worse comes to worse

Mrs. Vaughn always has such insightful ideas. Its getting close to the deadline date for our projects and I still haven't even put a dent in mine. I recieved permission on Sunday to shoot and direct the 'RondeLarry Show'.The only thing is we need to plan a specific time to think of ideas for the show, and shoot it. But just in case that doesn't work out so well, Mrs. Vaughn said I could always do a docuementary. Its simple, and a nice last resort, because honestly, I had no intension of shooting a docuementary. There's nothing wrong with docuementaries, they can actually be very informative, but to me there's more fun in editing a film with a story line.

Jordan Coleman

Ever heard of a kid named Jordan Coleman? Well this kid is a rising filmaker at the young age of 15. His film Say It Loud expresses the importance of education for young African American boys. It stars many of the idols that kids look up to today. Upon close observation, or obvious observation, Jordan noticed that many Afican American boys shy away from academics and put most of their efforts into sports and extra-curriculars. Jordan has traveled around the country premiering his film and speaking out to the youth. You may have seen him yourself, being that he's not far away from us. Jordan goes to Hackensack High School in New Jersey. You may also know him as the voice of Tyrone on the tv show, "The Backyardigans". He also appeared in an episode of America's Best Dance crew. What a kid! I' going to ask him to put me in one of his films.

Battle of the Schools

Whenever I'm forced to talk about college now, I roll my eyes. It is so annoying debating with people about weather I'm going to Stockton or Montclair. I want to go to Montclair. It's in North Jersey and has an awesome film program, which is what I plan to study in school. Stockton is located near Atlantic City, it is also a nice school but it's not film equipped. My mother wants me at Stockton because its closer. Although she won't admit it, I know its because she's not ready to let her "baby" go. How annoying!!!! I was at a point where I was about to give up and just go to Stockton. Whatever was I thinking?! I would be miserable. So I've made my selection, Montclair it is. Now its simply a matter of convincing my mom, and scheduling an audition to get into the college of arts. My astrological sign is a lion because I'm a leo; so don't get me wrong, I do like lions, but I'm so ready to spread my wings and become a Montclair Red Hawk. HHHuugGGh!!! ^&^

The video

Okay, so remember when I talked about that guy named Reno? He was the artist who asked my sponsor to film his music video. My dad did a lot of the fillming and editing, though he felt whoever recorded song did a horrible job, he was still happy with the way the outcome of the video. Recently, Reno changed his singing name to Ron C. Thomas. As you watch this video take note on how skinny this dude is. I don't know but that really bothered me watching him. In the video there are some shots where the background is red. Well, the background wasnt't really red, but my sponsor was able to edit it so that it appeared red. No they didn't use a green screen; its amazing what you can do with specific software.

Hit the books

Everyday I think of new ideas for my film and I love it. I continue to build and build. When I see my sponsor I take notes on the things he tells me about the film industry. Most of the time I ask him questions about the creating aspect of movies, such as special effects and things. One thing that I do need to work on, something that Mr. Abrams keeps reminding me of, is the history of directing and film. I have some information on a few idols who make this their living, but in all actuality, I should know more; especially if intend to make this my career. So its time to do some research!

My Sponsor's cool

There's this R&B singer who is trying to come out; I believe his name is Reno. He asked my sponsor to shoot his music video for him. I wish I had a link to post the video, but I have to find my father's youtube channel in order to get the link. Surely, I'll have it by Friday. I seen the many days and countless hours it took to shoot the video; and boy did my sponsor put in work. It was shot in New York and though NY isn't too far from PA, driving two hours back and forth in a stuffy mini-van gets tiring. The video is meant to be seductive to coordinate with the song. It was shot in a hotel. I was proud of the work my dad, Mr. Tyler, and Dave put in. I even got to meet the singer and let me tell you, the phrase "starving artist" is right on the money with this guy. Boy was that kid skinny! The song is called temperature and though me and my sponsor(s) will agree the song isn't so well recorded, rest assure the video is a work of art. One thing to keep in mind, when filming a skinny guy, stay away from the full figured models and use small women.

**********

Mrs. Vaughn is so sweet. I see her for about twenty mins everyday after lunch. Me and a few other seniors sit in her office an talk to her during period 6b. We get done scholarships, I talk to her about my sponsor visits, and we recieve coaching on how to be better people. A few students have cursing addicts, and for some reason the loudest and most alarming curse words come out in Mrs. Vaughn's office. "Come on guys," she'll say in her soft innocent voice. Most of the time the kids will just laugh when she tries to get them to simmer down, but overall, they have a lot of respect for her. We love Ms. Vaughn. So today's discussion in the guidence office was about a kid who we believe gets bullied more than he should.Ofcourse, Laura Vaughn, wants to end it. She asks me if there's anything that I think can be done to help, and you know what I said? "Mrs. Vaughn, Larry Hill is the perfect person for the kid to talk to. He's never in drama and people like him." So yeah Larry, I got you another kid to mentor: )

Check this out

Sorry fellow classmates, you won't be seeing me Friday. Is it because I'll be seeing my sponsor like I do every friday? Well, not quite this Friday is extra special, and its starting on Thursday. Three oclock, I will be on the train to New York with my cousin Kim. Kim works for a broadcasting station and this week they are having a ceremony for kids all over the world. These are kids who have done something extradinary, like wining noble peace prizes. For some of the kids, it will be their first time in America. My cousin's job will just be to make sure the kids are doing fine, and I will be there, Friday, in New York, Meeting amazing teens around my age from across the planet!\

Jump Start My Career

Helpful, like my sponsor always is, Dave got me thinking about audio. Friendly, as Larry Hill usually is, he told me of his visit with his sponsor and how he's making his own tracks. Then I thought hey, why don't we do a little hand in hand work with our projects? Real movies have soundtracks. If its possible, and allowed, maybe Larry and I can do a collaboration where he contributes to my project and I contribute to his. Basically, Larry would be making a soundtrack for my movie. Cool? Yes it is.If we keep going in the path we are, we could be business connects to one another. Now how convient would that be? I love the way I think sometimes. n_n

Circles upon Circles

Today is the day we open for Seussical! After long weeks of practice and preparations the show is finally here. And wouldn't it have been lovely if I was able to record the behind the scenes of Seussical. It could have been like a reality tv show. I came up with some more useful ideas to incorporate into my final project. For one, I'm going to add my own narration in there. I know it seems as though I keep changing my final film around; but that's only because I keep changing my final film around. Ha ha. I'll settle on something. I just need to find the time to actually start filming. Work, work, and more work has been piling upon me and I don't want to fall behind on the project. As I watched Steven Speilburg's "Schindler's List", he further invited me into the wonderful world of black and white. Believe or not I had planned to add some black and white scenes to my movie, but the idea was still up in the air. Now I'm leaning toward a definate yes in the checkerboard area. The main problem is the plot. What on Earth am I going to make a movie about? If you have any ideas, please, don't be shy on hitting me up!

Nice way to start your weekend

Every other weekend I go to my dad's house. To get there we have to catch the Lindenwold PATCO and the SEPTA subway. It's always me my brother and my dad, so because I'm the girl my dad always orders my brother to carry my bag and he then carries my brothers bags. Well it started off fine, a ride to the train station and casual conversation as usual. And then WHAM! I whipped out my liscense on him. He was so proud, but unfortunately the convo about my liscense carried on to the ticket machine in the staion, where my father forgot Jahvi's bag. It wasn't until we reached 16th nand Walnut did my dad say "WHoa! Jahvi where's your bag?" the situation would not have been nearly as bad had my brothers duffle not contain over $300 dollars worth of video games and supplies. I'm not a gamer, but I love the new dance games for the wii system. I bought the Micheal Jackson special edition game containing the glove; and I own both of the Just Dance games. It figures that the day I actually tell my brother to bring the games would be the same day my dad mistakenly looses the bag. Oh well, there's no use crying over spilled milk. They are just things, we could get them back. But if there's one thing I've learned, always carry your own stuff.

Whoot Whoot

Lindenwold High School left me with let downs today; but despite the disappointments I found today to be rather successful. "Why Deja?" "Why was your day so sucessful?" Well I thought of a tottally new, cool movie plot . Yes its a real neat plot. It came to me while talking to my friend Osiris about relationships. No, I know what you're thinking..."another sappy love story." You're wrong, because this story is so much greater than the merely love. There's a concept behind it; theories about what men truly like. Ofcourse I don't expose my ideas without copywritten paperwork, but I will say that the movie relates to alter egos, skitsofrenia, and a case of youthful alzheimers....and youthful alzhiemers is indeed an intended paradox. I like this plot too much to use it for my Senior Project movie. I beleive it could be a hit! So, I can optimistically say, today was a good day. :)

The objective for this week was to find out how it is that music is played while the actors talk during movies. Do you play the music while you’re filiming? Or do they edit the video and place the track over top of it? Apparently, the music is edited after filming and placed over top of the video. This is a funny video that a person narrated. Its absolutely halarious! Beware of mild language.

Making the Best of It

So it’s Senior year at Lindenwold High School. Am I satisfied? NO!!! As a senior I have just as many privaleges as a seventh grader. At las, there’s no use crying over spilled milk so what I’m trying to do is make the best out of my last year of high school. I think I’m pretty much suceeding. All the things that I was too nervous to do before, I’m doing now. I was in the fall play and I’m in the winter musical. I’m going to run for prom queeen, do an act for the talent show, and go on the senior trip. I find the stupidity of school regulations bringing me down sometimes. For instance, the other day I was called down to the office and given a referal for skipping class. I know right, that doesn’t even sound like me. So I had to go to my first period teeacher to get the situation straightened out. As I walked into D206 the freshmen that I mentor were sitting in classs staring at me holding a yellow referal slip. Shame Shame. Ofcourse the dilemma was set right but its the concept of what shouldn’t of had to happen. Ughhhh……. high school.
