Debbie Allen

Debble Allen, a rare breed; African American WOMEN director. Does she look familiar? That's because she's Phylicia Rashād's sister, better known as Clair Huxtable from the Cosby Show. Debbie Allen is also an actor, dancer, choreographer, TV producer, and director. She is well known for her work on the 1982 version of 'Fame' and many other films. But it doesn't stop there. Mrs. Allen is the director of many hit television shows such as, Everybody hates Chris, All of Us, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, That's So Raven, A Different World, Family Ties, and sooo many more. So though it may be rare to see women directors, especially African American ones, you can't say it's never happened.

  1. I have heard of Debbie Allen but I had no idea that she and Rashad were sisters. A talented gene pool there!

  5. I second that Rondel. I never heard of her before. Based on her occupation, she is exactly what you strive to be. But knowing the type of person you are and the potential you possess, you'll excede even her.
