Step by Step
My sponsor told me that on my way to becoming a director, I'll probably have to start off as an editor; which is cool with me. Editing is just as expressive as directing. Though you have to take orders from the boss, you still are able to sculpt and finalize the whole production. It's actually a beautiful start. I believe that whatever work you do should have some type of relation to your dream. As long as its helping get to where you want to be then it's not a waste of time. I can't wait to go to college so I can learn about what editing takes, because when I watch my sponsor do it, I see so many technical devices that I feel overwhelmed. But I think I'm a pretty quick learner so it shouldn't be a problem. If you can see it then it's possible. Seeeeee!

That sounds like a realistic plan. Also, it is probably good to have insight into all areas of the industry in order to be really good at the directing.
ReplyDeleteI think video editing is the coolest thing in the world. I'm going to college for film production, and I'm really excited to learn so much more! Having Mr. Flick in class really helped me these past couple of years. I don't know if you ever had him but he truly is a great video production teacher and mentor.
ReplyDeleteI glad that you are having some great experiences with your sponsor. I hope your dreams to be a director becomes reality. It couldn't happen to a nicer girl.
ReplyDeleteYou should put out a short silent film for the video awards at the end of the year.
